So light up the fire, and let the flame burn…

Now that we’re coming into the winter over here, the nights are getting cold.  Which is actually true.  Now we’ve got the joy of cold nights and mornings, but equally roasting hot days.  But I’m not going to complain, it’s certainly better than 7 months of snow!

Hermana Cristina decided it was high time to get the fire going in the home, so we had a bit of  a Christmas moment, in April.

Lighting it up…with branches, paper…..and plastic buckets.  Oh Bolivia

Getting pumped for the fire. yeeeeah.

Toasting “meshmellooosss” my fav.

Hermanitos (little brothers) Samuel and Erlan get involved.

Getting excited with Fernando

WE LOVE THE FIRE. YEEEAAAAHHH.

And once the kids had gone to bed, a bit of relaxing time for hermana Cristina and I..

It was nice to have a bit of a chilly feel after missing out on the cold of winter, but I’m not going to wish for too much, I’m quite happy with the sun!

Lola lolita

We used to have a little puppy in the home, to keep the regular dog, DooDoo, company.  Here it is:

Here she is. Loving life.

However, recently I came back to the home after the weekend and asked how the puppy was.  The answer?  “It’s dead.”  At first I thought it was a joke, but apparently not.  I would say it probably died of a virus because it wasn’t vaccinated but the real reason was “those boys were holding it too much. so it died.” Obviously.  Why didn’t I think of that one.

So the search was on to find a replacement, and chance would have it that last week some of DooDoo’s puppies were born.  He’s in demand.  So we managed to get one for the home.  Mauge took her to the vet’s so she was christened on her dog carnet “Lola Maginn.”  Thanks for that one Mauge.

Snoozin

I think Mauge and her daughter Ana have been having a little bit too much fun!

She’s moving in on Tuesday, let’s hope she lasts!

pero….estoy sin pañal…

This is just a quick update to tell you about the fun that I have been having recently with the boys.

So, on Wednesday I was at the home and the little ones came back from school and were getting changed when one of them shouted to me, “TIO! Look! Erlan went to school with NO PANTS ON!!!!!”  Just what you always want to hear.  I went in to their room to ask him why he thought that was a good idea when he informed me that the problem was that he didn’t have any underwear.  I, of course, like a good parent told him not to lie, and he definitely had them and I would find them.  So I looked for them everywhere, and of course, he didn’t have any.  So then I felt kind of bad and asked him if they were in the wash, and then he told me that he has 2 pairs. 2 pairs. So then I felt even worse.

Then, I went a mental hunt for underwear.  I went to 2 supermarkets, and 3 children’s clothes shops but they didn’t have any.  WHAT?!!?  Oh Bolivia…..  Then I had to go the market.  MY FAVE.  To the underwear section.  I was surrounded by pants.  Mental market.  But I got them all 3 pairs each.  Yess.

Then I had the joy of sitting last night in the kitchen writing names in all the underwear so they don’t lose it/fight over it and such.  Maybe in 45 pairs of underwear.  Joy of joys.

Getting stuck in

Really excited with the pants.

Today I gave them all their underwear, probably just in time because we were trying on the new clothes we bought them today and Erlan turned to me and said, “…but Tio, I can’t take my trousers off………estoy sin pañal…”, which means “I don’t have my nappy on.”  He’s 6 years old.  Oh dear.  Got some learning to do.
